This provides a detailed explanation about lightning rods to avoid lightning strike accidents.

This document provides information about the lightning rod <PDCE lightning rod> designed to avoid lightning strikes. The "PDCE" is a lightning rod that differs from the conventional "lightning rods that attract lightning and dissipate current," as it is based on the innovative concept of a "mechanism to avoid lightning strikes themselves." It offers a detailed explanation of product technical information, including basic knowledge about lightning rods, the mechanism of lightning strikes, and the PDCE lightning rod, supplemented with charts and diagrams. [Contents (excerpt)] ■ Introduction ■ What is a lightning rod? ■ Mechanism of lightning strikes ■ PDCE lightning rod ■ Relation to factory equipment *For more details, please refer to the PDF document or feel free to contact us.

Lightning protection case study: Railway company - Lightning prevention for trains on bridges and elevated sections.

We are using it on a scale of hundreds of units! Here is a case study from a railway company.

We would like to share feedback received from a certain railway company that has been using multiple PDCE units over several years. This company has traditionally struggled with lightning damage, particularly in elevated sections in the city center. In 2013, a train was struck by lightning on a bridge, causing significant transportation disruptions. As a preventive measure, PDCE lightning rods were gradually installed not only on bridges but also in elevated sections. "We have not experienced any lightning damage in the areas where the rods have been installed since then, and we are feeling the effects of lightning suppression," is the feedback we have received. 【Case Summary】 ■ Issue: The company had been troubled by lightning damage, especially in elevated sections in the city center. ■ Effect: There has been no lightning damage in the areas where the rods have been installed to date. ■ Survey Area - Central Point: Seijo Gakuen Mae Station [Latitude 35°38’25"/Longitude 139°35’57"] - Survey Range: 10km x 10km centered on the above point. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

Examples of Lightning Protection Measures: Broadcasting Station - Lightning Prevention for the Main Transmission Station and Relay Stations on the Mountain Summit.

We will introduce cases where lightning accidents occurring within facilities have decreased!

We would like to share feedback received from a local broadcasting station in Toyama that has been using multiple PDCE units over several years. At this station, the main transmission site and relay stations are installed on mountain peaks, where the probability of direct lightning strikes is high. When a strike occurs, failures in the power supply and broadcasting equipment frequently happen, and if damage occurs, it can take several hours of hiking through snowy mountains to reach the site, which has been a source of concern. "We have received feedback that since we replaced four relay stations along the coast, which had a high incidence of damage, with PDCE lightning rods four years ago, we have not experienced any lightning damage," they reported. [Case Overview] ■ Challenge: The high probability of direct lightning strikes frequently caused failures in the power supply and broadcasting equipment, and if damage occurred, it could take several hours of hiking through snowy mountains to reach the site. ■ Effect: There has been no lightning damage for four years. ■ Survey Area - Survey Location: Toyama Prefecture [Latitude 36°49'27"/Longitude 137°12'42"] - Survey Range: 60km x 60km centered around the above location. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

We absolutely want to avoid any injuries or accidents to our customers who come to enjoy their time. We have newly established 83 lightning protection facilities, ensuring that evacuation can be completed within 14 minutes from any hole. The installation work began in the spring of 2024, and we completed the setup by early June, before the increase in thunderstorms. [Case Overview] ■ Challenges - No lightning incidents have occurred, but one could happen eventually. - Evacuation is not possible near lightning rods that attract lightning. ■ Results - Established 83 new lightning protection facilities, allowing evacuation within 14 minutes from any hole. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

[PDCE Lightning Rod Introduction Case] Outdoor Music Festival <Yamanashi Prefecture>

Information will be provided on the website, in the pamphlet handed out upon arrival, and through announcements at the venue!

At the outdoor music festival "SPACE SHOWER SWEET LOVE SHOWER" held every summer, we installed a total of three PDCE lightning rods: one at each of the two stages and one near the entrance gate, to protect attendees from the danger of lightning strikes. Due to the large number of attendees at the event, there are no facilities in the surrounding area that can guide a large crowd simultaneously if a lightning warning is issued. Additionally, guiding people by bus takes time. Therefore, we have set up three temporary evacuation areas within the venue. By establishing clear areas, it becomes easier for part-time staff to enforce the procedures, allowing for smooth guidance even during sudden weather changes. [Case Summary] ■ Issue: There are no facilities in the surrounding area that can guide a large crowd simultaneously if a lightning warning is issued, and guiding by bus takes time. ■ Effect: It becomes easier for part-time staff to enforce procedures, allowing for smooth guidance during sudden weather changes. *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.

★Free Handbook Giveaway!! "Lightning Rod Inspection Handbook"

A book that includes the importance of lightning rods and key points regarding lightning rod measures related to lightning rod inspections.

The danger of lightning strikes lies in their ability to damage most building materials (such as concrete, steel, stone, and wood). When a lightning strike causes a large current to flow, it generates high temperatures, especially when wet, which can lead to fires, steam explosions, and weaken the structural integrity of buildings. In recent years, there has been an increasing trend in lightning strikes due to abnormal weather, putting various structures such as tall buildings, temples, and gas plants at risk. This discusses the importance of lightning rod inspections and key points regarding lightning rod measures.

We will introduce examples of lightning damage prevention measures related to worshippers, school life, and chemical investigations!

In this document, we present a summary of cases of individuals and organizations facing lightning damage with the new lightning rod technology. We provide detailed accounts of five cases, including a musician who introduced the PDCE lightning rod in their newly rebuilt home after a year and a half, and the Higashi Honganji Ushiku Great Buddha, which boldly adopted the previously unknown PDCE technology, among others, illustrated with images. This is a valuable read, so please take a look. 【Featured Cases】 ■ Pianist, Keyboardist, Composer ■ Higashi Honganji Temple, Ushiku Great Buddha ■ Kōka Gakuen Educational Institution ■ Keio Corporation ■ Japan Agency for Marine-Earth Science and Technology (JAMSTEC) Chikyu *For more details, please download the PDF or feel free to contact us.
